We are looking forward to a wonderful year of teaching and learning. The English Department has a group of energetic, experienced, and highly capable teachers who will engage all of our students in meaningful learning experineces that will improve student achievement and develop good citizens.

We ask all parents to please visit all of the your child's teachers' web pages for information on class expectations, syllabus, and other imporatant information that will help your child be successful this year. Review this infomation with your child so that s/he are clear about what is expected of them.

 

Throughout the year this page will be updated to include links to websites that support literacy. They will offer great ideas on how parents can support their child at home, fun games for kids that increase their reading and vocabulary, and information on places you can go to enhance student learning such as museums and special exhibits and showcases.

 

Every month, students are given a monthly calendar with all of the meetings, activites, and events going on at Bethune. We hope that you look for that calendar in addition to school mail and phone messages so that you can plan to be at our Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and other great events going on on our campus.

 

Please feel free to contact Mrs. Lesure, our Literacy Coach, with any questions or concerns you have regarding the English Department. We are here to educate your child and support you in helping us do that. We need to work together so that we can see ALL STUDENTS here at Bethune reach their full potential.
